Christopher Gething, CFA

Christopher Gething has been working in the wealth management industry for over fifteen years. Before founding Atherean Wealth Management, LLC in 2014, he worked as a financial adviser and planner at various firms in the New York City area including MetLife Securities.
Prior to his career in asset management and financial and tax planning, he worked as a mechanical engineer in industry at firms including ABAQUS, Inc, now part of Dassault Systèmes. His quantitative background serves him well in his current dual role of selecting securities for client portfolios and assisting clients with quantifying and achieving their financial goals.
He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. He is also a certified financial planner certificant, an IRS enrolled agent, and a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). He has Sc.B. and Sc.M. degrees in engineering from Brown University, and did graduate work in solid mechanics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he published quantitative research related to the mechanical behavior of crystalline metals and was a member of Sigma Xi.
